In Xiamen September 7th 2001 on the way in from the airport in the evening through the heavy traffic along the palm trees we came upon an accident. Blue lights flashing over the cars stopped ahead, a policeman guarding the scene. An empty ambulance with its back doors open. An unusual amount of space - a bottle neck.
Two bodies and a brief case with tape around the handle. I saw the father first, being cared for his head bandaged and cradled in the lap of a man leaning over him. Blood..
